Linux based Ubuntu has just released an update and it’s amazing!
I’ve been using the beta for a few weeks and I’m really impressed at how easy it is to use. The clutter you find in Windows OS is gone and everything “just works” right out of the box. 11.10 features a new dashboard, login screen and software store which has tons of free apps.
Ubuntu has super tight integration with it’s own cloud storage service Ubuntu One, think Dropbox-ish, which makes the latest Windows and OSX look behind the times.
Of course the only thing still missing is support for Adobe Creative Suite software. I managed to get Photoshop CS5 working but Premiere was a no-go.
11.10 refines some rougher edges, while adding in a few new convenience features as well—many focusing on the cloud. Check out a full walk through with pictures on Lifehacker
